Intrepid Cooks Use 17th-18th Century Recipes From Kislak Center Archives

The Huffington Post Taste features a write up on an undertaking of unique scholarly and culinary proportions: Rare Cooking, a public food history project which spotlights recipes from recipe books held by the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts. A recipe predating the middle of the 18th century for Shrewsbury cakes, akin to early modern snickerdoodle cookies, can be found on the blog Unique@Penn.The results of Rare Cooking are enlightening, often tasty, according to Alyssa Connell and Marissa Nicosia, the women behind the cooking.
