As part of our continued outreach to schools in the greater Philadelphia area, the Penn Libraries recently hosted 101 high school students from Roxborough, Abraham Lincoln, Paul Robeson, and South Philadephia High Schools for an annual job interview expo. At the interview expo the students are given a chance to practice interviews with members of the Philadelphia business community who provide them with feedback on their performance and participate in workshops that introduce them to real-world skills they need to know to succeed in the workplace. Expo organizer Sarah Hill feels that her student’s experience at the interview expo not only prepares them for summer jobs and internships, but also provides them with integral guidance for their future careers. Hill also feels that the college campus setting provided an inspirational backdrop for this impactful event. As always, the Penn Libraries looks forward to future collaborations with Philadelphia schools.
